Music: B. Cool-Aid- BRWN

Signed to mndsgn’s label Akashik Records, ‘BRWN’ is the highly anticipated collaborative debut album between producer Ahwlee and vocalist/rapper Pink Siifu. ‘Brwn.Intro’ sets the tone of this project – a masterful display of colourful and soulful tones and vibes. Pink Siifu’s vocals on tracks such as ‘Brwn.Intro,’ and ‘All_Weekend (feat Vida Jafari)’ are D’Angelo-esque- sexy, quirky and passionate. He delivers a focused, intricate rap verse on the latter half of ‘Holditinout’ and ‘Nothn2free,’ which highlights his talents as a diverse musician who is able to effortlessly blend in with the beautiful backdrop of Ahwlee’s incredibly detailed production. The keys and sax on ‘Teach’ make it my personal favourite on the album, but throughout, we get Dilla-esque drum patterns, soul loops, infectious grooves and various changes in rhythm and beat which makes it exciting at every corner.

Along with this superb album, Alima Lee and Ringgo have released a short film alongside the project. You can watch the film below and make sure you support and purchase ‘BRWN’ on all digital formats.
