a few thoughts: welcome to bruno berle’s tender, idyllic musical world. the talented brazilian artist has so far released three stunning albums, with sem fronteiras being a soft and gentle continuation of his ever-evolving sound. translated to ‘without borders’, the album represents a utopian vision of life, with soothing and delicate melodies that feel utterly replenishing. “vocé já sabe que eu te amo” featuring nyron higor is a gorgeous opener, with gentle acoustic guitar leads and mesmerising piano melodies, as both singers complement each other so beautifully, as the strings create this ethereal quality. “não posso viver sem voce” is a playful moment on the album, with piano leads and percussion that complement the atmospheric synth-led melody. “a noite de estrelas” has a groovy, bass-driven melody, with rhythmic drumming and gogeous, intertwining synth melodies that are hypnotic. the emphatic drum-led groove on “outra noite” is another incredible moment on the album. the dynamic bossa nova-led groove of “amor inteiro” is so infectious and dance-inducing. the r&b melody of “ideias mágicas” is cool, while the acoustic melody of “vim dizer” is sweet and enchanting. the instrumental “to assim” is beautiful, while the stripped-back acoustic melody of “manhã” is stunning, with gentle drumming caressing the lush melody, as it grows into this immersive, hypnotic moment on the album. the closer “sem fronteiras” is a reflective moment, with sweet guitar melodies, bruno’s ever-sweet voice, and subtle but poignant accompanying backing vocals make this a souful and beautiful way to close the album out. sem fronteiras is a gentle, smooth and textured album, with bruno berle’s soft and reassuring voice being the instrument holding the project together.
