PINTY is now a household name in the South London hip-hop / dance scene. His witty, intricate wordplay is usually complemented by jazzy and electronic production, with dance-centric rhythms that perfectly represent the engaging and ever-evolving London music scene.
Pinty’s House is his new project, a 9-track album featuring some of the most hypnotic tracks he’s recorded to date. The project features Catching Cairo, Mina Rose and Jadasea as vocal guests, and production from King Krule under his DJ JD Sports moniker, as well as Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, George FitzGerald, Karma Kid, Afriqua, Nat Home and Izco. The eclectic list of collaborators results in a varied, sonically diverse body of work. The laid-back dance vibe of “So So City” sets the tone for the album, with PINTY’s fluid and meandering flows complementing the production effortlessly. From that point on, the beats become more emphatic. The groove on the Garage-inspired “Flex” is heavy, while the broken beat rhythm of “5 Foot 5” featuring Mina Rose is exceptional as well. Jadasea has one of my favourite features on the “Afters, Lively”, while “P-I-N-T-Y” is gonna go down as one of the catchiest records of the year.
Pinty’s House is a celebration of the rich sonic tapestry of South London, with PINTY being the emcee that brings it all together. Listen to PINTY’s new album Pinty’s House below and don’t forget to support!
