London-based producer [KMY.] has come through with a stellar new album titled Idiot Archives, Vol.1. I’ve been a fan of this man’s beats for a while, as his eclectic hip-hop production has not only caught my ears, but the ears of a lot of the most respected London-based artists.
In short, the album slaps. Thanks for reading the review… No but seriously [KMY.] really does come through with some absolute tunes on this tape. From the funny yet important message in the opener “Classic Idiot,” to the crazy chopped and sampled “Canyoufeel?” the album is full of moments that make me bob my head and neck back and forth. The instrumental changes on “Beat That Devil’s Ass” are absolutely nasty and that bassline is so heavy. The angelic “Make Lofi Bounce Again” is fantastic with its gorgeous synths and a classic YouTube Mos Def freestyle that I personally love too. The only feature comes in the form of MIC Guyver, who provides a menacing verse on a hard-hitting bass-heavy beat. Overall, the way Keemy is able to chop these samples and beats up is truly mesmerizing, and proves why he’s one of the best producers working today.
