Mutant Academy have been releasing classics upon classics. Fly Anakin and Big Kahuna OG come through with a brand new collaborative album titled Holly Water. It’s a soulful and lyrically dense album showcasing their incredible wordplay and gorgeous instrumentals throughout.
After the “Intro” track, the album kicks off with the infectious “Baggington,” with its hard-hitting boom-bap beat and incredible flow from the talented two emcees. “Fusion Dance On A Tab” brings a soulful sample that is looped throughout. Features throughout from Henny L.O., Koncept Jack$on, Nickleus F, Mirtaw and Peter $un among others bring their unique voices to the album. “Corrupt” with Duce has a rich, soulful sound with incredible lyricism that just hits hard. “Boss Hostage” is another highlight on the album that acts as a cipher and features pretty stellar verses from Mirtaw, Koncept Jack$on, Nickleus F, Henny L.O. and Monday Night. It brings the album to a fitting end, really focusing on bringing introspective and intricate wordplay with smooth and soulful lyricism that just hits hard. So many moments on this album really stand out to me, and this album will definitely be on repeat for the foreseeable future.
