Talented Irish producer jarjarjr comes through with a brand new project titled Free Parking on Sundays. This is my first introduction to the musician, and he has released a lush, layered and soulful album that is perfect for an evening summer listen.
6 tracks long, the project meanders between gorgeous synths, smooth guitar leads and infectious grooves through basslines and beats. The claps and incredibly playful keys on “Wake Up Call” is a perfect opener to the project, setting a smooth and ethereal tone. The funky undertones on tracks like “Close Encounter” and “Earthed” are infectious, with their synths creating a groove-filled sound. The slower paced jazz drumming on “Quandary on Wandesford Quay” is fantastic too, bringing heaps of percussion and personality to the EP. Overall, jarjarjr comes through with a stellar release, and I’m looking forward to hearing new music soon!
