Music: Compro Oro – ‘Rastapopoulos’ ft. Joachim Cooder (Single)

Compro Oro’s music is described as being “a psychedelic underground road trip to Africa, the Middle East and the Americas via Belgium.” The Belgian band have released a brand new single titled “Rastapopoulos” featuring Joachim Cooder, which is off their upcoming anticipated album titled Suburban Exotica, out on the 18th October.

On “Rastapopoulos,” the group channel an Ethiopian vibe with the stellar guitar and synth leads and the immensely groovy and tribal percussion from Joachim Cooder. Their ability to transcend this mystical sound makes for a truly amazing listening experience, as the rhythms, guitar leads, synths and basslines provide a powerful vibe, one which is prominent throughout the album. The psyched out and frantic energy reminds me of the psychedelia of Mulatu Astatke’s music. A great, great track.
