Music: Jeen Bassa – CASSAVA PONE

One of the most exciting hip-hop producers in the UK Jeen Bassa comes through with a brand new project titled CASSAVA PONE. It’s exciting to hear him grow through his music these years, and this new project fully exceeds my expectations.

The two-sided project features some incredibly groovy and soulful moments through percussion-heavy grooves and eclectic beats. It is heavily influenced by Bassa’s Mauritian roots, taking you on a sonic journey through aboriginal and pan African sounds. The project features Mo Kolours, Al Dobson Jr, Reginald Omas Mamode IV and Shepherd Manyika, who all provide their personalities and talents shine through. 22a have been amazing ambassadors for the UK hip-hop scene for a while now and this new Jeen Bassa project CASSAVA PONE is an excellent addition to his discography.

Listen to snippets Jeen Bassa’s fantastic new project CASSAVA PONE below via Bandcamp and don’t forget to support! You can order exclusive vinyl copies from their page as well. Released via 22a Records.

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by. I run In Search Of Media with the aim of giving a platform to independent beatmakers, rappers and talented musicians. I also hope to make this a home for music discovery, interesting film analysis, exhibition reviews and other interesting content for all of you guys to dive in to. I hope to start a podcast and documentary-style project soon. If you're looking to be a part of this creative project, please go to the contact page and drop me an email, or connect via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. I also write for 'Music Is My Sanctuary.' Thanks 🙏
