Music: Andy Ordoñez- Evolución De La Musica Garifuna / Giriga (Singles)

Andy Ordoñez is a young drummer and producer from New York. He has released a new single titled “Evolución De La Musica Garifuna,” as well as another track titled “Giriga.” He was born to Honduran parents of Garifuna decent, and these two tracks see him delve head first into the influences of the Central American country.

“Evolución De La Musica Garifuna” is an upbeat, percussion and synth-heavy track with colourful guitar melodies and a beautiful vocal performance from the talented musician. “Giriga” is an upbeat record with fantastic drumming, soulful and playful vocals and a lot of Latin American percussive rhythms and vibes. These two tracks highlight the colourful, happy tone of Honduran music with their beautiful melodies and grooves throughout. Thanks to Andy Ordoñez for these two tracks, and I hope a more complete album will follow soon.
