In celebration of New Zealand-based producer christoph el’ trueno’s 30th birthday just a couple of days ago, the talented musician released a collection of tracks he calls peace maker dub. with 10 tracks of the best dub music I’ve heard in a while, christoph el ‘truento continues to show why he is one of the most talented and sonically versatile musicians out there at the moment.
With strong horn and flute sections, as well as hard-hitting dub inspired beats throughout, this is a wonderful collection of moody, dusty and groovy soundscapes that really captured so much passion, with eclectic and wonderful energy. Sonic and vocal chops and effects on tracks like “pep’s chant” bring home a soulful feel, with tracks like the opener “fisherman’s dub” even sounding psychedelic in Hendrix-inspired guitar leads.
There is so much to admire and love about this project, and I thank christoph for putting this together. Truly fantastic. Listen to peace maker dub below via Bandcamp, and make sure you support!
