UK-based musician Dave Rendle, known for known for his releases on Untracked, Out Here Audio, Horn Wax and his own Night Sweats Music, is back with a new project under the name Hazards of Prophecy. The project, released via Tiff’s Joints, is titled Minnie & Marcos and is a beautiful 3 track broken-beat project which includes sweet heavy and infectious basslines, soulful synth leads and organic, raw broken beats that just are just captivating to the ear that just make you groove.
The first track “Percussion Concussion” is basically what you imagine it to be. Percussive rhythms, beats and incredibly gorgeous grooves led by synths and incredible drumming throughout. Vocal snippets are also added throughout to provide that soul. The keys on the second track “Minnie & Marcos” make it my favourite track, a gorgeous, smooth, gorgeous and spiritual, it is soft in tone and brings out an angelic vibe led by keys, trumpets and subtle effects throughout. The synths on “Love & Rum,” the final track on the album gives out a heavy acid house vibe, a beautiful way to end the project off.
Altogether, this new Hazards of Prophecy record is a beautiful new release that deserves attention and play on dancefloors all over the country. It’s the 4th release from London based Tiff’s Joints label headed by Sean Keating. Listen to Minnie & Marcos below via Bandcamp and make sure you support!
