Kryptonyte is a newly formed group, comprising of Southern US talents Jade Fox (aka Liv.e), Lord Byron, Pink Siifu and Ben Hixon (Dallas TX & Birmingham AL). On their new album KRYPTONYTE, they bring that southern flavour to their music in a diverse, trap inspired tape with dope flows and a ton of personality.
The album cover is hilarious to me, as it tributes the old southern hip-hop tapes from the early 2000s. The raw energy from the lo-fi tape makes it a fitting tribute to that old southern trap sound, and you can tell that they just have fun with it, and that just makes it an engaging listen. Yes, the lo-fi production on this album makes it difficult to sometimes understand what is being said, but the charm comes from the pretty sick trap and funk influences throughout. Altogether, this is a pretty solid release from the guys, much love!
