Richmond, Virginia legend Ohbliv is back again, which is always exciting news. The talented producer has released Retrospective, a new album that sees him delve into old soul and jazz samples, bringing out a Rhodes-heavy tape which sounds smooth and really incredibly ethereal in sound.
With every track flowing into the next smoothly, he is not only able to maintain the energy throughout this tape, but also catch a specific mood and tone. That can be difficult to do, especially when you have 28 tracks on an album, but at no point did I lose interest or get distracted to listen to something else. Captivating music, and he just continues to cement his position as one of the greatest producers of this generation.
