Music: Flamingosis – Flight Fantastic

New Jersey based producer Flamingosis comes through with the album of the summer. Flight Fantastic contains some of the most colourful and funky rhythms you’ll hear on a record in a while. The energy he emanates through his music is just infectious. Whether it’s the bounce-heavy beats that are incredibly poignant in sound or the soul and funk samples interwoven throughout, the grooves throughout the project are incredible.

All of the tracks on this album are exceptional, so choosing my favourites from this album is almost impossible, but “Return of The Love Jones,” “Flight Fantastic (w/ Birocratic)” (the bass on this track is absolutely ridiculous), “Bruncha Nova (w/ Tokyo Megaplex)” and “Jet Skis & Hennessy” are absolute highlights. Flamingosis has put out what may be one of my favourite albums of the year with Flight Fantastic and is an exceptional addition to his already stellar discography.

You can listen to Flight Fantastic below via Bandcamp. Make sure you support the record in any way you can, because he deserves all the love and praise in the world for this one.
