Music: Quickly, Quickly – Over Skies EP

17 year old Portland-based producer Quickly, Quickly is back with another incredible little EP titled Over Skies. After his Paths project and his collaborative album with ANH titled Preach EP, he has gone from strength to strength with this new EP.

The usual electronic rhythms within his music are complemented by colourful and quirky synths and incredible basslines that bring heavy dance-oriented grooves to his project. He just proves why he is one of the most exciting new producers in the world right now. Tracks like “lie” and “if only you knew” contain subtle vocal samples that are intertwined with keys and a jazzy undertone that brings beautiful energy to the mood set by him. It really is amazing to think that the kid is only 17, the maturity in sound he possesses is ridiculous. Tracks like “ghost” just show how he can switch up the beat, change the pace of it and add r&b samples to further strengthen the vibe of the track. A true inspiration, and all beatmakers and producers should pay attention and learn from him.
