Portland-based musician Quickly Quickly has come through with his long-awaited and anticipated debut LP Paths. Released in the beginning of March, this album follows one of my favourite EP’s of last year, Preach, which was a collaborative effort with Australian producer ANH. It was an upbeat, feelgood project with incredibly forward thinking production, so I definitely recommend it to any fan of hip-hop and electronic music.
Quickly Quickly has produced with Paths, a beautifully crafted instrumental album with smooth samples, glossy beats, hard-hitting drums which stays consistent throughout the 16 tracks on this album. It gives out a more retro, old-school vibe than Preach EP, mainly for its soulful samples, but the production here is still as stellar and memorable as ever before, and it’s amazing to see such an artist get the shine he deserves.
You can listen to his debut album Paths below via Bandcamp, and make sure to support the music! Released on one of the best labels and collectives Radio Juicy.
