Music: Nubya Garcia – When We Are

The queen of the London music scene Nubya Garcia is back with a new EP titled When We Here, the follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2017 EP Nubya’s 5ive. The two tracks on this project, “When We Are” and “Source,” feature frequent collaborators Joe Armon Jones on Piano/Wurlitzer, Daniel Casimir on Double Bass and Femi Koleoso on drums. A high energy body of work, with intricate drumming and bass, subtle but gorgeous keys, an and a memorable performance by Nubya on sax.

The EP is accompanied but two remixes, one for “When We Are” from K-15, and the other  for “Source” remixed by Maxwell Owin. If you know anything about these two musicians, you’ll know that they are an essential part of the culture here in London. Their remixes are beautiful and will hopefully find their way on the dancefloors all around the world.

Please support Nubya Garcia’s When We Here EP by purchasing it, sharing it. The London jazz scene is thriving because of people like Nubya and all the collaborators involved with the creative process behind this project, so it is essential to show love if you enjoy what you’re listening to.
