Music: Reg Jula – Examples

Leeds producer Reg Jula is back with a new tape titled Examples, following the release of his excellent Running Tangents project last year. With a funkier and more eclectic tone than his last tape, Examples showcases Reg Jula’s talents as a producer as well as having a clearer focus and vision with it. The basslines are funkier, especially on tracks such as “thatsheht_v3”, and the overall tone of the project varies from moody, sometimes melancholic to uplifting and positive. The subtle keys on tracks such as “rst_session” give an ethereal quality to the track, something which is prevalent throughout. This doesn’t merely sound like a demo of tracks, more like a collage of ideas which are tightly knit together my an overall sound and theme.

Check out his 2017 project Running Tangents if you get the chance, and make sure you support Reg Jula’s creative output any way you can.
