Music: Carlos Niño & Friends – Going Home

Carlos Niño is a legend of the underground music scene. A producer, arranger, DJ, musician and radio host, Carlos has collaborated with a myriad of artists from around the world. His & Friends album series is in its 5th release, this time with an album titled Going Home, with collaborations featuring Deantoni Parks, Dexter Story, Jamael Dean, Josh Johnson, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, SK Kakraba, and New Age Legend Iasos.

An angelic, otherworldly release, this cosmic jazz project brings the same type of soundscape you would hear from legends such as Sun Ra or Alice Coltrane. The harp playing on ‘Perrsssspeshhhhiift’ featuring Jamael Dean is just hypnotic, whilst ‘OrganicSelf’, with Deantoni Parks, Dexter Story, Josh Johnson, and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson puts you in a complete trance. It is in tribute to “passing from the earthly realm,” and the euphoric and spiritual nature of the music makes this a fitting album about the spirit of death.
