Knablinz is a talented beatmaker from Astoria, Oregon. Under his G.O.A.T Beetz label, he has released abstract, experimental beats and mixes which have caught my ear for a couple of months now.
Healthy is an hour-long mix divided into two parts ‘Exercise’ and ‘Don’t Quit,’ which meander between afro-beat samples, quirky vocal chops and eerie and abstract loops as well. Healthy feels more like an abstract mix than an actual focused project, which is great because it creates a psychedelic, cinematic vibes that tell an abstract story but it is poignant in it’s execution.
wait a minute is more focused and to the point, with a two-part EP, with each track being around 7 and-a-half minutes long.
Both projects are so diverse yet flow seemingly between samples, vocal chops, rhythms and grooves. It’s an amazing example of experimental programming and sampling. Listen to Health and wait a minute below on Bandcamp.
