a few thoughts: axel boman has been continuously releasing absolute bangers over the last few years. 2024’s space drag is a personal highlight amongst his sprawling and varied discography, and has continued releasing incredible singles throughout the last few years. from riches to rags ep contains 4 tracks of pure heat, each with rumbling basslines and an undeniable groove just keeps going throughout its 24-minute runtime. “night blooming” featuring pbeatgirl has this deep house groove, with an immersive syth melody and thumping drumming throughout that is dynamic. the colourful and groovy “someone stop me” is another fantastic moment on the album, with its infectious bounce, while “svalor radiosignal” [axel’s dub] featuring joakim åhlund & jockum noström is another colourful, swirling moment on the album, with incredible piano-led compositions and heavy drum-led grooves that are just infectious from start to finish. “spooky” closes the album out with a meditative deep house cut. swirling synths, intense and relentless drums, it’s an excellent cut on the album and a perfect way to close it out.
