hey all, how are we? i hope you’ve been making the most of the weather because holy shit it’s been nice! it’s crazy how quickly and easily warm and sunny weather can transform mental health, it’s its own form of therapy. i’ve recently turned 30 (big age, i know), and feel fairly relaxed about it all. quite a few reflections i’ve had about turning 30 have also been influenced by the rhythm, race and revolution course i’m doing at the moment. i feel like a lot of our dreams, aspirations, goals etc are framed within the parameters of capitalism. the freedom comes from redefining goals and objectives based on what we really want out of life, which to me is to just to be, learn about different cultures, discover new music, experience art and life around me. and that’s given me the freedom to feel comfortable and at peace with my age and where i’m at in life if general. oh, and building a strong sense of community with people who are action oriented around building a better and healthier future for us all. something i’ve also been thinking about recently is my relationship with time, in particular thinking about how to look at the time less and be more grounded and present in the moment. i do wonder, if we didn’t measure time in the way that we do and as a race we didn’t know what time, day, month, or year it is, how would we feel individually as beings on this planet? less stressed for sure! but i feel like collectively as humans, we’ll be much happier and at peace with where we’re at, at this present moment. a lot of stresses and anxieties are related to deadlines, whether imposed directly on us by third parties, or set by societal expectations. fuck all of that. which is why i think it’s ok to be inconsistent writing, it’s ok to not want to do all these ‘productive’ things with the blog, because at the end of the day, i just want to be, i just want to experience, i just want to love the people around me and just listen to music and vibe, lol. so, with that in mind, here are some bits of music i have been listening to recently.
