a few thoughts: legendary dance producer osunlade is back with a short but punchy and infectious new ep titled prism. the dynamic energy of “sistagurl” kicks off the album with a groovy, funky rhythm that’s just incredible from start to finish. the keys and melodies within “the journey” are beautiful, with uplifting vocals that speak to being in the present in dance and enbracing your vibe in dance. the heavy percussion and drumming on “prism” is raw and primal in its energy. “pimpin (let this one ride)” is another raw, hypnotic hit, especially when the keys come in, it’s a real angelic keys that complement the acid house vibe of it. another incredible cut. “the way u left me” closes the album out with another vocal sampled cut with dynamic grooves and polyrhythms that are entrancing from start to finish. it’s another incredible project from one of the greatest to ever do it, in my opinion.
