a few thoughts: london-based artist and composer nala sinephro has been making some of the most evocative, stunning and mesmeric music since the release of her 2021 debut space 1.8. an immersive, ambient and moody listen, nala’s compositions are beyond breathtaking, with swelling strings and vibrant wind instrumentation that ebbs and flows between intricate drumming and ethereal, synth-led compositions. endlessness is her highly anticipated sophomore album, a stunning body of work that captures the same intensity as her debut, with uplifting and emotive moments, with meandering percussion, wind instrumentation and ambient electronic soundscapes that capture the soul and beauty of her artistry effortlessly. “continuum 1” sets the tone with heavy synth leads and harp melodies that create these sublime sonic moments that create this sprawling intensity throughout. the piano-led composition of “continuum 2” is stunning as well, with rhythmic drumming that makes for a dynamic listen, ending on hypnotic harp leads that are just so powerful. “continuum 3” has this immersive strings and piano leads that are absolutely stunning – an incredible piece from start to finish. the strings on “continuum 4” are mystical and otherworldly, and is a truly transcendent track, and perfectly melts into the playful “continuum 5”. “continuum 6” continues along those vibes, but with more synth-led intensity and drumming that makes this an emotionally overwhelming and frantic listen. the strings on “continuum 7” are incredible, while the synth-led, spacious composition on “continuum 8” is also sublime. the wind instrumentation on “continuum 9” is hypnotic and utterly breathtaking from start to finish, while “continuum 10” has sprawling, intense compositions, with cacophonous synth and string leads, intense drumming and a swirling, immersive composition that closes the album out triumphantly. nala sinephro has created a masterpiece with endlessness, a stunning, richly composed body of work that showcases her compositional talents beautifully.
