a few thoughts: lex amor dropping new music is always exciting, and she’s emerged from her creative hibernation with a brand new single “a7x” featuring talented luton-based emcee bxks and produced by oliver palfreyman. the eclectic and kaleidoscopic beat, led a soulful loop and dynamic, fast-paced drums throughout, allows for both bxks and lex to flow effortlessly over it, with intricate and dexterous lyricism on their state of mind, their dreams and fears, as well as observations about life around them. “babylon ain’t your bredren” lex reminds us, with clarity over who her friends are, what kind of energy she looks to surround herself with, the fights that are worth fighting for and continuous reminders about the importance of protecting your own peace and energy. while she’s been relatively quiet with music releases so far in recent years, there will be more to come.
