Why you should listen: Fatima has been an integral part of the growing soul and R&B scene in London over the last few years. With releases such as 2014’s Yellow Memories and 2018’s And Yet It’s All Love, the London via Stockholm artist has carved out a unique sound, with eclectic and hard-hitting production from some incredible producers, with her unique and sensual voice being at the centre of it all. Love on Acid EP is her first release since 2018, with a 4-track EP featuring production from Hackney-based rapper, pianist and producer Harvey Whyte. The stunning body of work features some smooth and lavish production, such as on “Donuts Waffles Sweet Grief”, with a playful synth and piano-driven melody, angelic vocals from Fatima and KeepVibesNear. The piano-led composition of “Love on Acid” is absolutely gorgeous, with Fatima’s emotive, angelic voice oozing throughout, with themes of love shining through. “New Phase” has a more dynamic, drum-heavy sound, as Fatima’s introspective lyrics and lush voice perfectly complements the groove of the instrumental. “Drifting in Light” closes the project out with a gorgeous melody and gentle, emotive vocal performance from Fatima, whose vocals are as smooth and sweet as honey. Fatima’s Love on Acid EP is a gorgeous short project that features some lush, immersive tracks about love and and life in all its colours.
