Why you should listen: George Riley’s creative growth over the years has been great to see. From independent releases such as interest rates, a tape, produced by the genius with Oliver Palfreyman to now tracks and projects with the likes of Actress, Loraine James, Hudson Mohawke, her artistic glow up has been incredible. Un​/​limited Love, as she describes it, is her graduation into womanhood and adulthood. With incredibly catchy electronic production, George’s sensual and playful nature is on full display. “Lush” and “Skin” are perfect examples of this, as her emotive, stunning and beautiful voice and lyrics immerse themselves in the warm embrace of electronic synths and beats. The dynamic groove and beat of “Elixir” is infectious, while the tribal synths of “Star”, produced by Actress are fantastic too. “S e x” with Hudson Mohawke is sexy, loud, in your face and infectious. The broken-beat groove of “Satisfy” closes the EP out beautifully with an upbeat groove, and George Riley’s powerful vocals about self-love, love of others and womanhood in general. It’s a special body of work and one that further cements George Riley as one of the most exciting new voices in electronic music today.
