Why you should listen: Spellbinding, beautiful and reflective as it is soulful, colourful and important, muva of Earth’s debut align with Nature’s Intelligence may be one of my favourites to come out this year. Everything about it is stunning. The clear Alice Coltrane influence with the emotive harp melodies throughout give the album such a spiritually enlightening sound and feeling. Tracks like “no one else has your magik” and “Meditation: align with Nature’s Intelligence” featuring Sirius B are both example of this. The former has some stunning piano melodies that add to the incredible harp-playing, and vocals that are just so powerful and beautiful, while the latter track has earthly, harp-led melodies, with an emotive soundscape complementing some reflective, earthly spoken-word meditations. “your intuition is your friend” is one of my favourites on the album. The guitar strings, harp playing, subtle piano keys and muva of Earth’s emphatic vocals make for a memorable track. The experimental arrangements, change in tempos and alluring vocals make it a special moment on the album. But moments like these are plentiful throughout the 8 tracks. “Mermaid under the sun” is an immersive, meditative listening experience, while “the sun will guide you” is the most serene and reflective way to conclude a mesmerizing project. Couldn’t recommend it enough!
