Oakland based musician Pacific Yew comes through with a new album titled (((( Maidenhair )))). As someone I have written extensively about in the past, it’s good to see the consistent level of quality releases from the talented artist.
This release features more guitar and lo-fi indie influences. With muddy vocal performances on tracks such as “((( Pacer )))” and “((( Newport))) give out a mellow vibe, and the guitar leads throughout the record vary from softer tones and notes on tracks like “((( Banded)))” to more aggressive moments on tracks like “((( Divide )))” which feature fuzzy, more psychedelic sounds that trip me out when listening. It’s a great new release that deserves recognition, and I hope Pacific Yew gets all the praise and love he deserves from everyone listening to and appreciating his music.
