Music: KALLITECHNIS – CHROMATIC EP

If you haven’t peeped some of the music coming out of Canada, more specifically Montreal, I suggest you do so as soon as possible. KALLITECHNIS is a Canadian soulful R&B singer I have become familiar with through her excellent feature on Billy Dukes’ debut album The Intervention “Chill.” She has a close working relationship with Intalekt, who is a guest feature on “INTA’S INTALUDE” and has production credits on “DIAMOND BABY.” She released her newest EP titled CHROMATIC, a sweet 5-track project which highlights her vocal range and chops as a songwriter effortlessly.

The smooth, lush instrumentals throughout the whole project is what’s so captivating to me. Guitar licks and grooves are accompanied by sweet synths on tracks like “SUNSET IT KALLI” and “PINK+YELLOW” are fantastic, with the latter track having an incredible bass-heavy beat that drives the track forward. As for KALLITECHNIS’ lyrical themes circulate around themes of love, hope and previous relationships as it sees KALLI grow beautifully throughout this project. The producers and features on this EP give so much personality throughout, so a major shoutout to Andrew Void, Pash, Kalipop, Intalekt and Maky Lavender for their contributions.

Overall, this is an excellent release from the Canadian talent, one which I shall be listening to for the foreseeable future. Congratulations on everything, you deserve all the success that’s coming to you! Listen to
