Music: Emanative – Earth

Emanative is the brainchild of London-based drummer and producer Nick Woodmansey, who has been releasing music for over a decade now. Throughout the years he has expanded and transformed the project into a full, collaborative and expansive group that has released 3 full-length projects so far as well as singles and other EPs. Emanative return with a vast, eclectic and experimental new album titled Earth.

With incredibly extensive and dense compositions, this album expands musically beyond the parameters of any genre. Heavily influenced by traditional Middle Eastern, Indian and African music, the tracks are for the most part meditative. With soothing horn sections throughout, bass-driven grooves and impeccable drumming, Earth really puts you in a spiritual-like trance. The energy and vibe of the music is just so soulful and beautiful that you can’t help but be in awe by the amount of musicianship and chemistry between the members. With contributions from the likes of Idris Ackamoor (who released an incredible album this year with The Pyramids titled An Angel Fell), Dele Sosimi, Nat Birchal, Sarathy Korwar and Ahu amongst others, different influences can be heard throughout the project, which gives it a ethereal and tribal tone throughout.

Earth is an incredible body that celebrates diversity and spirituality within music. You can listen to Emanative’s Earth below via Bandcamp, and make sure you support! Released via Jazzman Records.
