Still catching up with releases I missed in March, we have DJ Khalab and his first release on award winning record label On The Corner Records titled Zaire E.P. With tribal rhythms, hard-hitting beats and synth-heavy production, DJ Khalab is able to create an eclectic, dance-oriented vibe that is so excellently executed.

The title track “Zaire” is dense with drums, distorted electronic grooves, passionate and soulful vocal samples and a hypnotic that leaves you in a trance. There are remixes from Will LV and Medlar add a different tone to the original, while still maintaining the organic feel of the original track. On tracks such as “Aeh,” you hear passionate vocals from what sounds like a choir of African women, and is backed up by beautiful percussion and electronic rhythms that sound incredibly futuristic.
