Australian based – ANH and Portland- based Quickly, Quickly may have released on the most surprising, feel-good EP’s the year. The two incredibly talented musicians have created a colourful, sonically-dense and layered new project titled Preach EP, and my god is it amazing! From the trap-flavoured drum programming the colourful synth rhythms, vocal snippets and performances, this is an energetic, head-bob heavy stroke of genius from the guys, who have composed one of the most memorable EPs of the year.

‘Preach’ sets the tone of the album, an energetic opener. From the change in tempo with the drum patterns, the wonderful keys and synths sprinkled throughout, it’s an emphatic track with personality and confidence. This is carried through to ‘Contrast,’ which has a slightly slower tempo, focusing more on delicate piano-playing throughout, immediately dropping into the groove of the beat in an emphatic manner. ‘Charade’ features vocal performances from Mo Vibez & Olu Bliss, who bring personality and soul to the track. “Phases” features Yugi Boi & Dilip, bringing a dynamic groove to the track, which does not settle for anything less than heart-racing energy. That energy is carried through to the closer ‘Peak’ with an animated and synth and drum-heavy closer, which makes you want to go back to ‘Preach’ and listen to the project again.
