The legend Ohbliv is back with another phenomenal release titled Lewse Joints VI, which is a continuation of his series of the same name. About 2 years ago, Ohbliv created an alternative Bandcamp page under the alias Bradford Thomas, where he posted older beat tapes, raw sketches and ideas. While that alias and page doesn’t exist anymore, this tape is a representation of that raw and crazy sound he had (and still has, of course) on his previous projects. And as usual, the groovy, funky and soulful loops and samples used make for a head-bob heavy album. He also mentions that Biz Markie’s I Need A Haircut which was a inspiration for this tape.
Lewse Joints VI was a 2017 Cassette Store Day Exclusive, (an international event celebrating cassette releases), however the tape has sold out. Listen and buy it right now on Bandcamp. Released via Fat Beats Records.
