Before I write anything about Swarvy’s fantastic Blends Volume Series, do check out some of his previous projects, including one of the rap albums of the year Due Rent with talented artist lojii, Elderberry, which was rightly included in Bandcamp’s best beat tapes article which came out not too long ago, and his recent album Bop, released on Paxico Records.
Swarvy is one of my favourite producers right now. He consistently releases quality music through beat tapes, collaborations and more defined bodies of work. He recently released Blends Vol.3, which is a continuation of his remix and sample-driven beat tapes. All three are full of soulful gems, boom bap beats, contemporary and old school vocals. ‘swang’ is an example of how a Rae Shremmurd song can be beautifully interpreted with a groovy beat. It comes to show how much credit producers deserve for making any rapper sound good. They need more recognition, and Swarvy needs an award for best new artist in the underground right now.
There’s nothing much else to say, other than enjoy the vibes, because goddamn these joints are nice. Good vibes all around.
Make sure you listen to Blends Vol.3 and check out his previous two beat tapes in the series below. Please support the artist in any way possible as well.
