One of the most enjoyable aspects of following and writing about music is seeing artists grow throughout the years. DJ Harrison was an artist I discovered through the beauty of Twitter, and really dug his Vault Series on his Bandcamp page. 4 years or so later he is signed to Stones Throw and has an incredible album to accompany that. The Richmond, VA artist experiments with finer sampling techniques and comes through with soulful instrumental melodies, with a focus on rhythm through the always intricate drum patterns and blissful keys to accompany his experiments- ‘ProcessFresh’ (a personal favourite) exemplifies this perfectly.
